SIETAR Europa Executive Committee Elections 2025

Call for Nominations

Step Forward:
Shape the Future of SIETAR Europa

In times of rapid change and growing uncertainty, leadership matters more than ever.

Like many volunteer-led organisations, SIETAR is navigating deep and complex challenges. These didn’t arrive overnight. They’ve grown over time—accelerated by global shifts such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the rise of artificial intelligence, and an increasingly polarized political climate. In our own field of intercultural communication and management, the ground beneath our feet is shifting fast.

The models that once worked—the events that energized us, the methods that connected us—no longer resonate in the same way. Across the globe, SIETAR is searching for its place in this new world. And here in Europe, we’ve felt the impact directly, with the loss of several national SIETAR organisations (SIETAR Austria, SIETAR Italia and SIETAR Espana) and others struggling to survive.

But within every challenge lies a powerful opportunity. This is a turning point. And we are calling on you—the professionals, the thinkers, the doers, the bridge-builders—to be part of it.

Following the resignation of three members of the Executive Team, SIETAR Europa is now looking for candidates to join our Executive Board in place of the current interim members. We need people who bring not only experience and knowledge, but also courage, clarity, and vision. People who believe in the enduring importance of intercultural understanding, and who are ready to lead with both heart and strategy.

Leading a volunteer-run organisation like SIETAR Europa can be difficult at times, it always has been, and it most probably always will be. Volunteer organisations need to be led with lots of conversations, compromises, tolerance of ambiguity, and excellent communication skills – core intercultural competences. But in SIETAR, that’s the name of the game.

We need to try and move from a VUCA world defined by volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity… to one where we champion vision, understanding, clarity and agility. Your leadership can help guide that transition.

Serving on the Executive Board is a unique opportunity to help redefine SIETAR’s place in Europe and beyond. To co-create innovative pathways forward. To ensure this organisation not only survives, but thrives—remaining a vibrant, vital force in the intercultural space for decades to come.

If you’ve ever thought about giving back to the field, if you’ve ever wanted to help shape the future of intercultural practice—now is the time.

Take a look at the open positions on this page. Reflect on what you can bring. And most importantly—step forward.

We need your leadership. SIETAR needs your voice. The future is waiting.
