2022 Direct Member Elections

SIETAR Europa statutes and guidelines require us to hold elections for Direct Member Representatives every two years.

The elections for this term will be held between the 8th and 20th March 2022. If you are a Direct Member of SIETAR Europa, you will receive an e-mail with a link to this page and another link to cast your vote.

There are two openings for the position of Direct Member Representative, and we have two candidates. Please find their profiles below. You may vote for one or both candidates.

DM Representatives are members of the SEU Board and are directly involved in all important decisions regarding the governance of our organisation. They represent the direct members and serve on the Board together with the representatives of the nine National SIETARs.

Motivation

As an orchestra conductor I am perhaps not a traditional SIETAR practitioner. I have used my career to study and understand how diverse musical cultures within the orchestra can come together in harmony, to work together, and to appreciate and honor their differences in order to be in artistic harmony. I’m convinced that this experience can be useful for others to understand intercultural aspects and would encourage SIETAR to seek out other nontraditional practitioners to include in your organization.

Vision

What is it for me to be a DM representative? I believe that when you represent a community, you demonstrate that you stand and care for the interests of the members, respect all views and consult decisions. You are present and stay open. The people you represent do not necessarily be your close connections or regular colocutors, they might not frequently and actively participate in the meetings you organize, but you should be unconditionally convinced that the trust is there.

I would like to explore the possibility of using the DMMeetup sessions as a tool to expand SIETAR memberships. Also, I train public speakers and see the possibility of using my background to elevate the level of presentations. I find that the material presented in the DM meetings is often excellent, but could have greater impact with some tips about public speaking and presentation.

Motivation

I’m honoured to be a DMs representative on the Board for more than two years now and hopefully, earned a proven record of multiple contributions to the development of DM membership and the organization in general, working closely together with my SEU colleagues.

The longer you work the better you understand the organization, how it is operated and managed, you learn to see connections and create new opportunities. Now I want to use my valuable experience with the Board for building further on what we have already achieved together and grow SIETAR even more visible and respected globally.

Vision

I think one of the most important achievements of the last years is the membership management system which is now in place and should serve the purpose for the DM community to grow faster, so I want to contribute to the network expansion.

Over the last two years, we have been also experimenting a lot to bring DMs closer together, we have been trying different channels and options with no success, some success, bigger success:-). And I continue to believe these efforts matter and count. So, creating multiple opportunities for knowing each other better and connecting DMs across borders for meaningful experiences together is an important task.
